Heading back to Autodesk University 2017

Hard to believe that Fall and Autodesk University are here again!  Seems like just yesterday we were in Vegas in a (very) small “startup kiosk”.  In a few short weeks, we’re headed back, this time in a real booth (Booth C606), involved in three sessions, and co-sponsoring an event Tuesday night with BuiltWorlds @ TopGolf. Here’s where to find us!

First the fun:  We are co-hosting a Builtworlds meetup on Tuesday, 11/14 at TopGolf Las Vegas from 8:30 – 10:30 pm.  There will be apps, drinks and did we mention… golf?  It’s supposed to be a lot of fun for golf and non-golf lovers (it’s as much a video game as it is golf) so be sure to sign-up (Password: builtworlds@au) if you’re interested in attending.

Next,  we’re excited to participate in three sessions:

  • BIM 360 Product Partnership Panel (Tuesday, Nov 14, 8:00 - 9:00 AM). Read More >
  • AI for Construction Safety—Reducing Job Site Risk (Tuesday, Nov 14, 3:45 - 4:45 PM). (We are presenting with Skanska) Read More >
  • Industry Panel: Making Construction Smarter Using AI and Machine Learning (Thursday, Nov 16, 8:00 - 9:00 AM). Read More >

So, if you can’t seem to wake up for 8 am sessions (for ideas on how to do so, see survival tips below), don’t worry, there’s more to AU than just the classroom.  Be sure to spend time on the exhibit floor getting hands-on with the technologies you’re learning about. We’ll be in the “Construction and Operations Exhibitors” section in booth C606. Come by to introduce yourself and get a demo of Newmetrix.  Plus - we have cool pop sockets and laptop stickers to share with you. We had a “mini” booth last year.  Wait until you see the booth this year!

Some Survival tips

Lastly, some of us have been to many, many, AUs so we wanted to pass along some tips to surviving (and thriving) at the conference:

  • Wear comfy clothes and shoes (the days are long and there’s a lot of walking)
  • Download the conference app or manually add your sessions to your calendar to get alerts
  • Prepare for hydration - even consider asking for a humidifier in your room (they are free!)
  • Sign up for sessions ahead of time since they fill up

We’ll see you there!
